James F. Steiner

James F. Steiner 81, Lucinda, died Thursday, September 2, at his home.  Born June 23, 1929, he was the son of the late Edward Henry and Theresa E. Schmader Steiner.  He was married on June 22, 1957 to the former Mildred K. Humphreys, who preceded him in death on May 14, 1987.  Family will receive friends from 1-4pm on Sunday, at the Robert V. Ronald W. Smith Jr.

Ronald W. Smith, Jr. 49, of Franklin, was pronounced dead early Thursday morning, September 2, shortly after his arrival in the emergency department of UPMC Northwest in Seneca.  Mr. Smith was stricken in his home with an apparent massive heart attack.  He was known to many throughout the area as the program manager of Forever Broadcasting's Froggy FM and as the popular on-air announcer, James Pond.  The Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, Franklin, is in charge of arrangments. 

Jacqueline I. "Jackie" Silvis

Jacqueline I. "Jackie" Silvis, 16, of Corsica, died Tuesday, August 31 at Brookville Hospital.  She was born May 26, 2004, she was the daughter of Richard "Pete" Silvis and Laura Grantz Silvis, both survive.  Visitation will be held Friday from 9am to 1pm at McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1pm in the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to United Cerebral Palsy - Alleghenies UCP, 119 Jari Drive, Johnstown, PA 15904.

Wayne James Lyle

Wayne James Lyle 63, of Limestone, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 31, at his home.  Born December 27, 1947, in Millvale, he was the son of the late Leon E. and Alice Neurohr Lyle.  Family will receive friends from 3-4pm on Thursday, at the New Rehoboth Greenville Presbyterian Church in Clarion.  Funeral services will held at 4pm on Thursday, at the church.  The arrangements are under the direction of the Robert V. Ellen Annabel Shick

Ellen Annabel Shick 74, of Brookville, died Monday, August 30th in Jefferson Manor.  She was born June 6, 1936 to Nobel Ferringer and Elizabeth Edinger Ferringer.  She was married on April 23, 1955 to Walter J. Shick, who preceded her in death on October 13, 2001.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11am at Emerickville United Methodist Church.  Memorials may be made to Emerickville United Methodist Church.

John M. "Turk" Beatty

John M. "Turk" Beatty 73, of Brookville, died Sunday, August 29th at Brookville Hospital.  He was born May 5, 1937, he was the son of Earl Leroy Beatty and Margaret Marshall Beatty.  He was married on December 16, 1956 to Sandra McManigle, who survives.  Visitation will be held at the time of services on Friday at 11am at the Presbyterian Church in Brookville.  Memorials may be sent to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - 119 Federal St., RM. 509, Pittsburgh, PA 15212; American Diabetes Association - 300 Penn Center Blvd., Ste. 602, Pittsburgh, 15235; Butler Cemetery Association - c/o Gary Bullers - 1601 Kemmer Rd, Summerville, PA 15864.  Arrangements are being handled by McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville.

William G. Rice

William G. Rice 48, of Lakeville, formerly of Clarion, died on Saturday, August 28, in Dunmore, PA.  Born on September 26, 1961, in Brookville, he was the son of Gordon J. Rice Jr. and Dorothy Reinsel Rice.  Mr. Rice was married on February 14, 1989, to the former Janet Accetturo, who survives.  Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Wednesday, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, Clarion.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, in the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in his name to: Greeley Volunteer Fire Department - PO Box 99, Greeley, PA 18425; or the Queen of Peace Church - 314 Chestnut Avenue, Hawley, PA 18428.  Those wishing to submit condolences may do so by visiting www.rvburnsfuneralhome.com.

Brian J. Rozanski

Brian J. Rozanski 26, of Rimersburg, formerly of President Township, Venango County, died Friday, August 27th, as a result of a motorcycle accident in Paint Township, Clarion County.  Born November 22, 1983, he was the son of Diana L. Holloway Rozanski and the late John G. Rozanski, Jr., who died on June 1, 2008.  On August 16, 2008, in shippenville, he married Rebecca A. "Beckie" McKinney, who survives.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Evans, officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Forest Area High School basketball team in honor of Brian - 22318 Route 62, Box 16, Tionesta, PA 16353.  Online condolences may be sent by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
