Knox Wins Loser's Bracket
7/18/08 In Clarion County American Legion action, Knox advanced to the championship game by beating Clarion 5 to 2 yesterday. Scott Lutz picked up the win, striking out 1 and allowing 4 hits over 6 innings.
Knox will host New Bethlehem at 6pm in the championship game.
Clarion County American Legion Tournament
7/16/08 Clarion chocked up 12 hits against North Clarion to win their first round match-up, 17 to 2. Jace Rhoads held North Clarion to only 5 hits.
New Bethlehem advances to the winner's bracket final after beating Knox 12 to 3. Craig Hibell pitched a complete game 4 hitter for the win. Hibell struck out 5 and walked 2.
Today: Clarion plays host to New Bethlehem in the winner's bracket, while North Clarion will travel to Knox for the elimination game.
Clarion Moves on in 9-10 yr old Action
7/15/08 Clarion eliminated Butler Township from the District 25 9-10 year-old All-Star loser's bracket tournament with a 6-4 win Monday. Taylor Smith ripped a double and two singles for Clarion. Adrian Weber and Jimmy Smathers combined to pitch a 4 hitter.
Clarion takes heads to Franklin on Wednesday for the loser's bracket final.
