Today's Reminder

At the recent Clarion Boro Council Meeting members gave thier approval for a series of planned improvements along South Street to move forward. Council also gave permission for bids to be sought for the work planned (as a part of this project).  Council gave its approval for the retention of the project consultant to also serve as a daily job supervisor for the planned rehabilatation and storm sewer work which will be done along several blocks of South Street. After Council members were finished with official procedures it was time for the  public comment segment of the meeting. Council  members heard from several concerned citizens, who wanted to make sure steps are taken to preserve historic sites during this project. Some of the historical rubrics requested are: retention of traditional streets setbacks of certain homes, perservation of historic horse hitching posts, and trees along the South Street project. There were no immediate remarks from  council members in response to the public comment segment of the meeting. Infact council members were suggested by the council president Joann Vavrek to hold off on any statements, regarding citezens requests. The meeting ended and boro council president  Vavrek declined to make any  additional statement.
